Nekonečný príbeh je 14 m dlhé fotografické leporelo pozostávajúce s chronologicky vybraných fotografií, kooperujúcih v príbuzných dvojiciach, obsahovo zobrazujúcich prvé dva roky života mojej dcéry a vlastne aj jej prenatálne obdobie.

Ester a iné príbehy…
Keď som sa po roku 2004 prvýkrát stretla s tvorbou Moniky Hurňanskej, fascinovala ma imaginatívnosť cyklu „Zvečneniny”, ktorý pripomínal maľbu: prekrývanie obrazov, poézia niekoľko-vrstevnatých výpovedí a skrytých príbehov, krehkosť rukopisu a zároveň razantnosť „maľby” naznačovali nástup silnej autorskej osobnosti na domácu fotografickú scénu. Fotografie klamlivo pripomínali zložité montáže: autorka však decentne využívala počítačovú manipuláciu obrazov, podobne ako pri cykle „Nedotýkajte sa, prosím” (2005 − 2009). Urbánne a krajinárske „dotyky” autorkiných rúk sú originálnou výpoveďou o interakcii s prostredím, v ktorom žijeme: opätovne zasahuje do fotografií digitálnou montážou a premieňa ich na osobné výpovede s prekvapujúcou vizuálnou silou. Keď o pár rokov prichádza s konceptom osobného príbehu o vlastných deťoch, prekvapuje formálnou zmenou štýlu: od manipulovanej fotografie prechádza k naratívnym dokumentom, prezentovaným ako obrazové leporelá v čase: s cyklom „Ester − nekonečný príbeh” (od roku 2007) začína obdobie systémovej tvorby o vlastných deťoch a rodine. Je to ojedinelá, úprimná výpoveď, šokujúca odvahou zverejniť intímne chvíle od narodenia prvej dcéry po albumové zábery rodinného zázemia. Príbeh má takmer kinematografický efekt: prechádzajúc sa popri 14 m dlhej výpovedi zvedavo skúmame fotografie, ktoré nás unášajú v čase a odkrývajú plynúci život s rozrastajúcou sa rodinou, podobne ako film, ktorý nekončí posledným záberom − a preto sa stáva nekonečným, autorkiným pričinením aj večným svedectvom o žene-matke, o koncepte v čase a o nekončiacich príbehoch.

Esther and other stories…
When I first met Monika Hurňanská work after year 2004, I was fascinated with imagination of the series “Eternal Truths”, which resembled me a painting: overlapping images, poetry of layered testimonies and hidden stories; a fragility of the manuscript as well as penetrative “painting”. All these indicated the strong authorial personality rising on a domestic photographic scene. Those pictures falsely resembled the complicated montages: however, the author decently used computer image manipulation, similar as in the cycle “Don’t Touch, Please” (2005 − 2009). The urban and landscape “touches” of author’s hands are unique confession of the interaction with the environment in which we live: she repeatedly interferes into photographs by digital montage and she turns them into personal testimony with surprising visual power. A few years later she comes with the concept of a personal story of her own children, and she surprises by a formal change of style: from manipulating photographs she turns to a narrative documents presented as a visual folding picture book in the time: with the collection “Esther −  never-ending story” (since 2007) she starts new period of systematic work about her own children and family. It’s a rare, truthful confession, shocking by courage to disclose the intimate moments since birth of the first daughter up to photo album’s shots of a family background. The story has an almost cinematic effect: passing along the 14 m long testimony we curiously investigate pictures, which kidnap us in the time, and reveal a life flowing; with expanding family, like a movie, which does not end with the last shot – by the author’s diligence therefore it becomes infinite as well as the eternal confession of the woman-mother, it is the concept in the time and about endless stories.
